Da Nang

Unfortunately, due to the protest that was happening in Thailand, all the flights to Bangkok got cancelled. This meant that we had to cancel our Thailand trip, which was quite a shame though since I was really looking forward to going. So to replace the  trip, as a group (well, the parents only), we decided to take a trip to Da Nang instead, which is a well known province in Vietnam.

Despite the dull and cold weather out here, I was absolutely breath-taken by the amazing landscape. One of the attractions we went to was called 'Water Mountain', in which we got to explore an ancient Buddhist Temple. It was also filled with many tunnels and mountain peaks, which meant that there were a lot of mountain hiking involved. It was quite dangerous though, as the rocks were rather slippery. However, I believe that when you're on holiday, the best way to explore the culture is to risk it all.

We also got the opportunity to visit a local marble store where they carve and sell some of the most amazing marble structures ever, along with small antiques perfect to display around the house. While at the marble store, my friends and I decided to look for The Great Stone Dragon from Mulan, but  were unsuccessful, which is disappointing on our part.

Traditional Vietnamese Cold Roll

The food here is also out of this world, filled with many flavours and varieties. Furthermore, Vietnamese Cuisine is quite healthy as well due to the amount of vegetable and lack of oil there is in the dishes.

Although I'm really enjoying my time in Vietnam, I am counting the days towards Taiwan! I absolutely cannot wait till Taiwan, especially the landscape over there, which I personally think is slightly better than Vietnam. So please stay tuned to see my updates on my remaining days in Vietnam along with my trip to Taiwan!
